Campaign by HOPE Welfare Trust
“My parents were leprosy patients, and I grew up in a leprosy colony. At times, we didn’t have a grain of rice in our home and no money for medication, either. We had been thrown out of cities and villages for no fault of ours. Today I have just one objective in life to help leprosy survivors live a decent life and I will keep serving them till my last breath”, shares Durga Lal of Hope Welfare Trust.
The NGO today stands as the only hope for over 100 leprosy patients who neither have a means to survive nor resources to get medication.

Durga Lal is in dire need of funds to keep his work going. Help Hope Welfare Trust in providing food and essential medicines to leprosy survivors. Donate generously.

Harsh reality of forgotten survivors
Leprosy is often seen as a curse, rather than being recognised for what it actually is – a curable bacterial infection. “Their limbs have withered away. They cannot even eat food on their own. How can I leave these survivors on the streets? Each day, they live in pain and suffering and one day they succumb to it. They don't even have a roof above their heads. They don't have bandages to cover their wounds. Their wounds become infested with flies” Durga Lal says.
A life filled with stigma and suffering
Survivors are denied even basic needs as they are not given jobs, they are shunned from public places, and they live in constant fear of rejection. This exclusion worsens their suffering, leaving them vulnerable and marginalised.

Today Durga Lal and his Hope Welfare Trust are the only hope for over 100 leprosy survivors. Without assistance life would become even more painful for these elderly. Your donation can go a long way in ensuring continued support. Donate now.

It is difficult to imagine the plight of the men and women who suffer from leprosy. They face social discrimination, hunger, homelessness, and worse. Hope Welfare Trust aims to change that, but we need your help to do it!
Take a look at some of our key achievements over the last financial year 24-25. We've benefitted over 164 people with leprosy and these achievements include:
-342 Ration kits distributed in Prayagraj & Varanasi.
-114 Mosquito nets distributed in Prayagraj &Varanasi.
-56 Clothes distributed among Leprosy patients in Gaya.
-Medicines distributed in a Leprosy Colony.
The stigma around leprosy means those who are afflicted are outcasts and exiles. No one cares for them. Hope Welfare Trust has made it our mission to take care of the abandoned and destitute and show them what real love means.
Please support us in our efforts! Every contribution is valuable and makes a world of difference in the eyes of the people we can provide food and materials to.

The stigma around leprosy is alive and well. Lepers are treated like outcasts and wretches despite their condition being manageable. Forced to live outside conventional society, their resilience is incredible. However, it is unfortunately put to the test for thousands of poor lepers on a day to day basis.
Hope Welfare Trust does whatever possible to ease the suffering of all of our 170 beneficiaries. Take a look at some of the measures taken by us to help the less fortunate -
Take a look at the situation of Kamla Devi, a survivor who has been battling leprosy for the last 5 decades. Though her disease left her crippled and reliant on crutches to walk, the real harm came from society itself. Left to fend for herself, her resilience carried her to an ashram where she found refuge. To this day, her survival depends on whatever she can make by begging. The local society occasionally helps her out but her circumstances combined with her condition make her situation dire.
We need your help to ensure that lepers are not only known as victims of their disease. They too are human beings with the same aspirations, hopes, and pasts. It is our duty to care for them, not despite their condition, but because of it. And your support is crucial in our stuggle to make better lives.
