Who We Are—What We Do

Katakhali Swapnopuron Welfare Society is dedicated to transforming lives in the Sundarbans by running the region’s only English medium schools exclusively serving marginalized children. With compassion and holistic outreach, we address academic, nutritional, and emotional needs for children across five school branches spread throughout the islands, currently nurturing the hopes of more than 950+ students.

The Challenges We Face

• Scarcity of Quality Education: Distance and isolation keep many children, especially girls, out of school.
• Social Barriers: Girls encounter early marriage pressures and limiting gender roles.
• Economic Hardship: Families struggle to provide even the basics—books, uniforms, and nutritious meals.
• Isolation: Many children feel disconnected from wider opportunities due to their remote village locations.
