Though the Right to Education Act (RTE) was implemented in 2009, enforcing free and compulsory education for all children between 6-14 years, the act has been less than successful in providing good quality, holistic education, especially in government schools. Problems such as lack of basic resources, facilities, teacher shortages, demotivated faculty and rote learning pedagogies have resulted in extremely poor learning outcomes.

Children from underprivileged backgrounds can only afford government schooling. However, due you such a poor learning environment, even those who manage to complete their education lack basic reading, writing and communication skills.

The underlying philosophy of VIDYA is the leadership of tomorrow. At VIDYA we strongly believe that it is entirely possible and necessary to provide underprivileged children with the same quality of education and exposure one would receive at an elite school. Our aim is to ensure that our students reach the demographic dividend that helps them break the cycle of poverty.
