Education support for the poor children from the slums and settlement areas of Bangalore city

The project intends to provide education support for poor children from the slums and settlement areas of Bangalore city. The project is designed in such a way to free the vulnerable children from the evils of child labour, protect them from abuse and other vulnerabilities, and mainstream them through formal education.  The project will provide financial support through education sponsorship for 100 less privileged children to continue their formal education 

The project will directly support 100 children for continuing their education for one year. The children come from the urban slums and settlement areas of Bangalore city. The children will be selected from the economically backward families or belong to the lower caste of the society (backward caste and tribe). The parents of these children are daily wage labourers and are indifferent towards the education of their children.

The funds received through the project will be utilized to meet the health care, school fees, uniforms, nutritious food, school bags, notebooks, etc.

The project will change the lives of the less privileged children who were once denied the right to education and child hood. The project would explicitly benefit 100 poor and marginalised children. The education of the children will change the community/family on a long term basis. If we are able to educate a child, it will change the society as a whole. It will also contribute to reduce the street children and child labourers in the city of Bangalore.

Once we are able to create a greater impact through the implementation of the project, we hope to integrate these activities with the State Government and local bodies’ welfare schemes. Besides, we hope to obtain support from the corporate and service associations like Lion’s Club, Rotary Club, etc., which could sustain our intervention on behalf of these children.
