आज भी हमारे देश में कई ऐसे बच्चे हैं जिनके लिए शिक्षा केवल एक सपना है। सामाजिक स्तर पर किए जा रहे प्रयास पर्याप्त नहीं हैं। एक जागरूक नागरिक के रूप में हम यह स्वीकार नहीं कर सकते कि मासूम बच्चे अनपढ़ रह जाएँ। आखिर इन बच्चों की गलती क्या है? क्या सिर्फ गरीब परिवार में जन्म लेना ही उनके लिए जीवनभर का अभिशाप बन जाए?

अक्षरमाला फाउंडेशन झारखंड और उत्तर प्रदेश के आदिवासी, अनुसूचित जाति और मजदूर परिवारों के लगभग 1000 बच्चों को उच्च शिक्षा तक पहुँचाने के लिए संकल्पित है। इसके लिए उन्हें शिक्षा, प्रशिक्षण और आवश्यक संसाधन उपलब्ध कराए जा रहे हैं।
