Educational Support to 1000 Underprivileged Children

Underprivileged Children have experienced serious learning disruptions and challenges. One is that, they belong to economically backward families who cannot pay for their education. Secondly, due to the pandemic, the nearly two-year learning gap is making many kids afraid of school and disinterested in learning, which discourages them from returning to school. This may increase school dropouts and they will have to confront significant barriers to profession and earning capacity later in life due to absence of high-quality education. This is more likely to put on a negative effect on them which can threaten their potential to influence society and themselves for a better future.

ATMA Foundation is providing educational support to 1000 children from deprived low-income family backgrounds. This includes financial and material help which averages about INR 600 per month per child for costs related to tuition fees, books, digital gadgets, and internet for online learning, etc. These kids receive additional learning support from experienced volunteer teachers through ATMA both online and offline.

We have also launched the ATMA Uyare project to provide them online tuitions to improve their academic performances. Individual care is given to each child to promote his or her talents and interests in academics. 

Last year, 1000 children were given educational kits to help them go back to school after the covid situation. 300 plus children are taking learning support in various forms from the Volunteer Teachers of ATMA Uyare. This year too, we hope to continue this effort and positively impact the learning of 1000 children.
