OLD AGE CARE 

“The fear of old age is not the fear of death, but the fear of living”. There was a time when old persons’ care was a well-acknowledged responsibility of those living under a single roof and not a debatable issue. But, rapidly changing family and social systems   & values, have turned this into a major social challenge today. There is certainly no easy answer to questions like where exactly should elders go? And whom to look for shelter and care? How society can respond to such calls is a challenge.

It is in response to such a critical question, Sri Viswesha theertha Swamiji of Udupi Pejawar Mutt, whose heart was always beating, to respond to such social causes, added one more human centre to a chain of his creations. He has visioned a non-commercial humanity centre for the aged to be used only by genuine needy people. Swamiji has envisioned the institution in such a way that it does not foster the old-age home attitude and habit, nor prove detrimental to any cultural and family values. Or safe heaven for those who want to dump their elders. 

This centre prefers needy and deserving persons like childless couples, unmarried, parents with only daughters etc; as a priority. An old-age care home “Sri Pejawara Sridhama charitable trust” has come up at J.P.Nagar Mysore, under the patronage of Pejawara Swamiji being managed by a dedicated committee. 

Pejawara Sridhama has taken care to provide all the basic facilities. While a part of the Ashram is open to those who can afford to pay part of their expenses a section is also reserved for those who need partial/total support.

Since the support from their families is not of much expectation we have taken the responsibilities of these souls ie; the total dependent residents who cannot afford the medical care/Nursing/medicines /medical accessories like Diapers, gloves etc;.

Some eligible seniors are provided with medical policies to take care of any eventual hospitalization. The health insurance policy premium is paid by the organisation.

The old-age prefers a safe, clean, peaceful place to live in at the fag end of their life. this is not a place like a paying guest where money is taken and food accommodation is provided.it is a place where people feel comfortable happy peaceful in the prayer of God and those who believe in attaining the feet o the god. a sort of vanaprastha ashrama.
