Help me support a cause close to my heart

Megafauna Welfare Foundation is an animal welfare organization based in Chandigarh. Our mission is to protect and improve the lives of stray and neglected animals through proactive care, legal protection, and community involvement.We are currently operating five key projects, in addition to several smaller initiatives aimed at supporting animal welfare in the region and beyond:1. Feeding ProjectWe provide nutritious meals daily to over 1,000 stray animals across the Chandigarh Tricity and neighboring areas. This includes hard-to-reach locations where feeding is often neglected. For instance, when Chandigarh initiated its Slum-Free City project, we stepped in to feed animals in areas where slums were demolished and displaced animals were left behind.2. Veterinary Aid ProjectWe offer emergency veterinary treatment to injured and sick stray animals. Our dedicated medical response team operates in and around Chandigarh and is also deployed to disaster-affected regions. Recently, our team was sent to Sultanpur Lodhi to aid animals stranded and injured during severe floods.3. Legal Aid ProjectThrough this initiative, we provide legal assistance to protect animals and their caretakers, including filing petitions and taking legal action where necessary (currently we have 12 active legal cases). We are committed to ensuring that animal cruelty cases are addressed appropriately and that animal rights are upheld in all circumstances.4. Sensitisation ProgramsWe conduct awareness and education programs to sensitise communities about animal welfare laws and responsible coexistence with animals. These programs target schools, colleges, residential areas, and public servants to foster compassion and legal awareness.5. Ongoing and Auxiliary InitiativesIn addition to the above, we also run:Free Anti-Rabies Vaccination DrivesReflective Collar Drives for stray dogsCruelty Case Support across Chandigarh and other parts of IndiaAnimal Sanctuary: We are also coming up with an animal sanctuary (1 hour from Chandigarh) to provide life long care to blind, disabled, abandoned and paralysed animals.
