Empower children with disability to thrive through sports

At Umoya Sports, we believe every child with disability will prosper and thrive with access to the transformative power of sports. Our programs empower them develop physical fitness, build essential socio-emotional skills such as confidence, leadership and teamwork. From physical literacy to inclusive play, we create safe and inclusive spaces where every child’s potential can be realized.

Recently, our athletes achieved remarkable success, winning 33 medals at the Delhi State Para Swimming Championship. Now, many of them, including our newest athlete S*, are aiming for the Paralympics 2028.

To keep empowering their journeys, we need your support

This year, we are raising funds for two (2) key initiatives that will have a direct impact on the future of close to 1200 children with disabilities and our para and special athletes:

1. Athlete Development Fund: 

Umoya is building one-of-a-kind fund dedicated to support grassroots athletes and children with disabilities, many of whom are from underprivileged backgrounds. The Athlete Development Fund will provide critical resources to help our athletes at a stage when they need it most. This includes:

•   Access to professional training to enhance their competitive skills to take them to the next level. Provide the right nutritional support to enable them to perform at their best.
• Therapies and medical care which are essential for their holistic growth and development
• Access to platforms and competitions - Covering costs for tournament participation, allowing them to compete and gain exposure, with a vision of representing India on the world stage. 

  This fund is more than just financial aid—it's a lifeline for our athletes to continue pursuing their dreams, including international platforms like the Paralympics.

2. Adapted Sports and life-skills centers: 

 It is estimated that 4 out 5 children with a disability do NOT have access to play or sports.

Umoya aims to challenge this status quo!

Umoya is building a network of safe and inclusive after-school sports spaces for children and other individuals with disabilities, offering a platform for each individual to unlock their full potential through recreational play or competitive training. We have already created 2 such spaces and now we aim to build 5 more inclusive and safe play spaces to directly reach out to 500 more children with disabilities. We aim to establish these hyperlocal clubs closer to communities of our children with disabilities to ensure maximum participation of children and youth, and reducing their challenges of accessing such spaces.
