At Aatmvishwas Foundation, we recently encountered a heartbreaking reality. Four innocent siblings—Kamni, Anoj, Ladli, and Ajeet—lost both of their parents. Today, they live with their elderly grandparents, who toil daily as laborers. Due to extreme poverty, survival is a constant battle. There are painful nights when these young children have nothing to eat and go to sleep drinking only water.

Amidst this crushing poverty, 14-year-old Kamni faced an even bigger crisis. Pressured by societal burdens, her grandparents agreed to marry her off. But Kamni dared to dream. She wanted to study, live her childhood, and become the strength her siblings needed. Gathering immense courage, she walked into our center, her eyes filled with fear but desperate for hope.

The Turning Point

We stepped in immediately. After counseling her grandmother about the perils of child marriage, we assured the family of our complete support. We are proud to share that the wedding has been called off! Kamni is now coming to our center daily to get educated and empowered.
