Vidyun - a community center where our children learn how to make their dreams a reality, by finding their Spark!

At our center, we work with our learners to equip them with skills of leadership, critical thinking, collaboration, and communication - skills that enable them to choose a life aligned to their potential.

We do this through...

Our Spark structure - where our children lead learning for themselves and their peers. They explore their creativity, strengths, and areas of growth, and learn from their mistakes. This structure includes science experiments, craft activities, drama, dance, and music - a holistic lens through which we approach learning.

Our Mentorship conversations - to build the skill of reflection, where our children get mentored by an adult who helps them navigate challenges, deep dive into their identities, and explore their truest self.

Our Exposure Visits - our learners get to widen their understanding of a world beyond their classroom, and when this happens, we have seen magic being created! Our learners start dreaming big, they bring in more passion and excitement, and they learn about what truly interests them and how to pursue it!

Our Meal Time - when our learners find a nutritious meal that helps them focus better in class, bond with their peers, and get exposed to cuisines from all around the country, they start learning better.

Our STEAM Structure - we are building scientists, researchers, artists, mathematicians, and so much more with our STEAM activities; where our learners dip their toes in digital literacy, create their own projects, experiment with Science, and express their creativity. This helps them prepare for a future that is waiting for them!

What does all of this lead to?

When our learners find relevance in their learning, become experts at leading their own learning, and are exposed to opportunities, they discover their Spark. They do not drop out of education [where currently one learner from each household in our community of Rakhial drops out of secondary education every year]. They find purpose in learning and in creating a life for themselves to break out of the cycle of poverty. They pursue higher education. They are equipped to choose a career that is aligned to their interests and potential.

This is what we are building at Vidyun - the belief to dream big. The skills to pursue that life they want. And the mindsets to not give up and learn from mistakes.
