Empower Rural Women Through Skills and Livelihoods

For over 20 years, Selvi Women Education and Empowerment Trust (SWEET TRUST) has been working to transform the lives of women, children, youth, farmers, and marginalized communities across rural Tamil Nadu.

Established in 2005, SWEET TRUST believes that every woman deserves the opportunity to live with dignity, confidence, and financial independence. Poverty, unemployment, lack of education, and limited livelihood opportunities continue to affect thousands of rural families. Women are often the most affected, with many struggling to support their families and secure a better future for their children.

Through this fundraising campaign, we aim to provide vocational skill training, entrepreneurship support, livelihood opportunities, financial literacy, and self-help group strengthening for rural women. We also support education for disadvantaged children, health awareness programmes, environmental conservation, and sustainable community development.

Over the years, SWEET TRUST has:

• Empowered 2,650 women through Self-Help Groups.
• Supported 1,378 women to start income-generating activities.
• Trained 3,400+ youth and adolescent girls in vocational and entrepreneurship skills.
• Rehabilitated 860 school dropouts and child labourers into formal education.
• Reached 3,600+ people through health awareness programmes.
• Promoted sustainable agriculture among rural farmers.
