Empower Women by Enhancing Livelihood Opportunities

We are SPECTRA Organization working with marginalized women to empower them that they can empower themselves.

We have been working in the most interior areas of Rajasthan in education through SHG formation, formation and strengthening of Krishi Sakhi (Agriculture Cadder) and Pashu Sakhi (Animal Cadder) groups. Though women are working as Pashu sakhi but they don't have any proper place to work regularly, also they need more training to develop their work.

Now we are planning to establish a Pashu Sakhi Centre where they can sit on a regular basis and treatment kit will be there. During any emergency people can visit the centre for animal treatment. Now Pashu Sakhis have no proper place to sit regularly to work.  Pashu Sakhi (Animal Cadder) is a new concept in these areas. We find out interested women from the marginalized section and provide them Goatry training from our veterinary expertise. After the training they serve as an Animal cadder and provide primary treatment to the Goats. Women are getting interested in this profession; Goat based families are also benefitted because Pashu Sakhis are working to improve the overall goat rearing practices. 

This will help in the aspirations of women dreaming for establishing themselves as Pashu Sakhis and empower them economically.  After establishing themselves as Pashu Sakhi, women can support their families financially and also develop their decision-making power in themselves. This fundraising activity can motivate them to do hard work and get success in the future.
