Empowering Livelihoods : Sewing and Entrepreneurial Skills Program for Women

Many underprivileged families have lost their main income earner due to COVID 19 thus resulting in total loss of income. The support is solely for those women who have lost their breadwinner and not have any financial support

Established in 1971, Nav Bharat Jagriti Kendra (NBJK) aims at facilitating a just and egalitarian society through an integrated development approach, with special emphasis on the most vulnerable and disadvantaged sections of society including women, children and person with disabilities.

NBJK is looking the community-based initiative aims to empower village women to become entrepreneurs through sewing and setting up tailoring shop. The organization identifies particularly marginalized groups of women mobilizes them, trains them in sewing and provides them with a free sewing machine. NBJK then provides handholding and monitoring support to these women for a period of 6 months.

Through the support of above mentioned project, women who lost their family income and not able to support her family for daily needs and due to financial crisis they are forced to stop children education, are able to support their family and their children rejoin school and complete there education.
