Empowering Women to Build Stronger Villages

In Sirohi Khurd, a remote village in Jharkhand’s Palamau district, most young women have never used a computer. Many have had little or no access to formal education. Caste-based exclusion and early household responsibilities often confine them to their homes, leaving them with limited voice in family or community decisions.

Yet, real change begins when a woman earns.

Building on its work through After-School Learning Centres in three neighboring villages, CLE Trust is launching a Women Empowerment Pilot in Sirohi Khurd. The program aims to support 25 young women in gaining skills, confidence, and financial independence — without having to leave their village.

• Provides digital literacy training, covering essential computer and smartphone skills
• Offers tailoring and beautician training for non-literate women
• Delivers entrepreneurship support and mentorship to help women start small enterprises
• Ensures ongoing guidance to support the journey from learning to earning

This initiative is not just about skill-building — it is about confidence, self-identity, and choice.

When women earn:

• Women gain a voice in household and community decisions
• Communities become stronger and more resilient

Empowered women empower entire communities.

By the end of one year, participating women will:

• Start small, income-generating enterprises
• Gain confidence and decision-making power
• Emerge as role models for other women in their village

Project Cost (1 Year): ₹11,48,400 to support 25 women
