Enhancing Early Learning And Literacy Intervention For Girls/ Boys And Their Mothers In Underrepresented Communities

1) Early learning programme for Girls/boys aged 3-10 years: train teachers to adopt the ‘’play way method’’ to secure a warm and nurturing learning environment. The programme will focus on physical, motor, cognitive, language, social, and emotional development. Sessions will be conducted for 3 hours for 6 days a week. Facilitator will record weekly observations and conduct mid-term and end-term progress reviews for each enrolled child. Efforts will be made at the end of the project to contact nearby schools for mainstreaming the future education of these girls/ boys.

2) Reading, writing, computer, and skills development courses for women aged 18-45 years. Sessions will be held in batches. The batches will cover 25 women per centre in 6 months. 

Tracking changes in women and boys/girls attitudes toward education, confidence and decision-making will be conducted to help us determine the programme’s effectiveness, as well as provide data that will help us design future interventions in the community. 

To cover 250 girls/boys and women at two centres: U.P / Uttarakhand and Delhi Through the following interventions: Early Learning Program: 150 girls/ Boys (aged 3-10 Years) Reading, Writing classes and computer classes: 100 women (aged 18-45 Years)

A grant from Oracle will support 250 beneficiaries in 2 states. 150 Girls / Boys ages 3-10 in the early learning program. 100 Women ages 18-45 in basic literacy Classes. 

Outputs: ❖ 150 girls/ boys will be prepared for formal schooling at the pre-primary level. ❖ 100 women will have improved reading, writing and skills methods. Outcomes: ❖ Early interventions in education will have a positive impact in later years in the lives of these girls/ boys. ❖ Improved confidence in speaking, better pronunciation and vocabulary. ❖ Educated women will have greater confidence in themselves and add positively to the lives of their family.
