Enhancing Student's with Scholarship Support

Access to quality education is a point of major concern in rural schools. The proposed location is Thiruvallur district formed in 1997. It has 14 blocks for administrative convenience. It has a total population of 37,28,104 and 34.86 per cent of the population lives in rural villages. The child population is 11.06 per cent. The proposed locations that the project will cover are Paruthipattu, Paleripattu, Villianjiampakkam, Sekkadu, Muthapudupet, Thandurai, Mittanamillee, Kovilpadagai & Thirumullaivoyal and the population is 344701. Majority of people living in villages have understood the importance of education and know that it is the only way to get rid of poverty. But due to lack of money, they are not able to send their children to private schools and hence depend upon government schools for education.

The Ma Foi Foundation has its focus on education, sports, health, women empowerment and environment. The initiative aims to help disadvantaged communities achieve economic independence by building an integrated support system that provides education, training and entrepreneurial mentoring by partnering with community based organizations and corporate houses. The Foundation has reached out to 4.5 lakh populations in Avadi and neighbouring villages. Education is provided to disadvantaged children to help them become grounded, educated and sensitive individuals of the society. It is not just about education alone, but also the holistic development of a child through discovering their hidden talents. We provide scholarships to ensure that they continue with their education without any hurdles. The academically weaker students are helped with necessary study tools and additional coaching classes. Children spent 2 hours with our trainers every day after school hours learning skills.

Until this day, the Ma Foi Foundation has provided educational support to 8000 children. Over 4000 children have been provided with healthcare support, over 250 weak students have been helped in pass their class 10 examination, over 300 students have been enabled to become graduates, 4000 have been provided with scholarship support and 4000 children study in rural education centre. All these initiatives were made possible by mobilizing funds from various individual donors. Similarly, the Foundation seeks support of donors to facilitate scholarship support to100 students during this academic year as well.
