Entrepreneurs, teachers and designers of tomorrow!

India is the third largest HIV epidemic in the world. According to NACO technical report of 2015, out of the 2.6 million HIV positive population in India, 1.3 million are children. Unfortunately, the number continues to rise. The abandoned and orphaned children suffering from HIV/AIDS face staggering risks and typically die young or live on the streets.

Naz India was the only organization to open the first Care Home for the abandoned/orphaned children living HIV in north India in 2001 after a child was abandoned at our doorstep.

This thriving home currently looks after 25 children providing them with educational, medical, nutritional and psychological support around the clock. Our home has become a model care home to such child care institutions throughout India. We teach our model to other institutions through a rights-based approach for children living with HIV/AIDS program.

The focus of Naz’s intervention has been to develop the children holistically in order to enable them to socio-economically re-integrate them in the society.

- 21-year old Rahul completed a certificate course in Permaculture and Permaculture Design in Hyderabad in August last year. Since the course, he has been working at Naz's organic farm to help expand the scale and improve the farming techniques to yield better results. Rahul is pursuing his 12th-grade examination by correspondence.

- 15-year old Aarti* studies in 8th grade and wants to be a fashion designer. She is training under a professional from the field since last 6 months. Her trainer says that she has a very good sense of colors and she can do wonders if she receives proper training.

- 18-year old Sahiba* always knew that she wanted to be a teacher. After completing her 12th grade with flying colors, she has now joined a Montessori teacher’s training course.
