Through the Leadership Academy, Development Focus is nurturing a new generation of leaders—young Yuva Mitras who dare to dream of a better tomorrow for their villages.

Over eight transformative months, 20 committed youth are being trained as Change Agents.in four Rural Leadership Academies. Their mission is bold yet deeply rooted in everyday realities:

• To open the eyes of 3,333 children to their rights, their health, and their safety.
• To walk alongside 4,000 adults, sparking conversations on unsafe migration, child marriage, and gender equality.
• To challenge and influence local governance, ensuring that every household receives its rightful entitlements.

In the villages of Tamar and Silli in Ranchi, and Basia and Bano in Gumla and Simdega, children and youth often grow up without the safety nets of education, opportunity, and protection. Too many are forced into unsafe journeys, early marriages, or the silence of discrimination.

But the story does not end there. With courage and conviction, these young leaders are rising—determined to rewrite the narrative of their communities. They are becoming the voice of the voiceless, the protectors of childhood, and the torchbearers of change.

The Leadership Academy is not just training individuals. It is planting seeds of hope, resilience, and justice—seeds that will grow into a future where every child and youth can thrive.
