Extend support to Roja to complete B. Sc nursing (BSN) to become the essential worker

Meet Roja - a strong, confident and a girl with big dreams. What you see today is in total contrast to how her childhood was.

She is one of three children to her daily wage laborer parents and hails from a tiny village in Vellore district in the state of Tamilnadu. Having a congnitively challenged and agrresive brother at home made academics difficult so she was admitted to the Hope House - a children's home.

A shy, timid child with shallow academic foundation gradually began to transform. As weeks turned into months and months into years, she finished 10th grade with good marks and went from all government school to an aided school to complete 11th & 12th grades.

Then, got admission to B.Sc nursing in a reputed institute but fees was unaffordable so she approached the banks for a loan. Unfortunately, for the mistakes that others have committed, although eligible, her loan application was declined. Dejected but not defeated, with the help of a few philanthropists, Hope House helped her to pay for the first year and the second year was spent at home due to COVID. It is becoming increasingly difficult to sustain for another two years to complete this course.
