The world famous Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath in Puri is one of the largest religious gatherings on Earth, attracting millions of devotees from across India and abroad. Every year, pilgrims travel great distances to witness the divine journey of Mahaprabhu Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra.

While the festival is a grand celebration of faith and devotion, it also presents a significant humanitarian challenge. During peak Rath Yatra days, the number of devotees often far exceeds the available facilities. Many pilgrims spend long hours on the roads, in queues and in crowded areas under intense heat and humidity.

Despite the efforts of various organisations and authorities, the demand for food and safe drinking water frequently exceeds the available supply, especially during peak crowd hours and in areas away from major distribution points. Thousands of devotees including senior citizens, women, children, persons with disabilities and economically disadvantaged pilgrims often struggle to find timely access to meals, clean drinking water and basic refreshments.

Recognising this critical need, UTPRERIT FOUNDATION is organising Anna Seva & Jal Seva to provide free, hygienic food and drinking water to devotees during the festival.

Our goal is to establish dedicated service points and mobile volunteer teams to distribute:

• Freshly prepared meals
• Drinking water
• ORS and hydration support
• Light refreshments for pilgrims facing long waits and extreme weather conditions

We aim to serve lakhs of devotees throughout the Rath Yatra period, ensuring that no one is forced to continue their spiritual journey hungry, thirsty or exhausted.

When millions come seeking the blessings of Mahaprabhu, let us ensure that no devotee is deprived of a meal or a glass of water.
