Story

In 2021, IPER has completed 50 years of enormous work for the well being of less privileged children.

They are committed to work for social equality through development of the less privileged children and women, who are denied basic needs of education, health care, nutrition, protection against abuse and other rights. Keeping in mind the Sustainable Development Goals [SDGs] of the  United Nation’s, they are trying to meet them through their projects and programme within the marginalized community in the city of Kolkata. IPER provide midday meals, primary education, healthcare facilities, pre-vocational training, recreational facilities, talent development classes, social and cultural integration activities for channelizing their beneficiaries into a mainstream society.

Nutrition Support through midday meals

IPER provides midday meals daily to the children who are attending classes at IPER Campus. We also try to leverage our partners to provide dry rations to the affected families.

Health care facilities

This is a core component which cuts across all projects of IPER. In line with United Nation’s SDG #3, the health program at IPER includes medical check-ups, providing treatment and referrals when required. But due to the prevailing pandemic children are unable to get this health check-up and medicines when sick. Immunity boosters are the need of the hour.

Education support

IPER aims at making education a reality for ALL irrespective of their economic and gender differences.

Our programmes facilitate basic quality education by increasing learning competencies, providing remedial coaching to support school curriculum and prevention of dropouts.

Against the Covid-19 pandemic background, a lot of our beneficiary groups were affected directly and indirectly. We are trying to streamline our education programmes by running hybrid education model, partly in class with less children, and partly remote by giving weekly assignments to all children is being run.

Children who are able to come are provided with fresh midday meals on daily basis. Other, children and their families are supported with dry rations.

We are also conducting all are vocational programmes through online platform.

Healthcare facilities and vaccination drives are also being conducted at our premises.
