Protect Healthcare Workers: Dakshas Proposes to expand an existing program from 6 to 50 Community Clinics in Hyderabad
Dakshas has also supplied PPE to District Medical Officer suveillance teams, 175 PDs Ration shops and Pain Relief & Palliative Society..
Role of Community Clinics:
As the lockdown eases, the first point of contact of any patient is generally their government community center. There are 73 such centers in Hyderabad, which have four healthcare workers each and see an average of 50-100 patients per day. They see the bulk of cases in primary care and would be the first to contact any cases in the community. They also ensure that healthcare units and hospitals units upstream are not overwhelmed by treating the majority of minor complaints. It is important that they can ensure that their premises are infection free.
Dakshas surveyed 73 of these clinics, out of which 50 have requested support. Dakshas was able to supply 5 such clinics for this week while the survey was being conducted. Over these last four weeks it has developed a well-defined supply chain, which can easily support these 50 Basti Dawakhanas. We seek your help to expand to 50 Community Clinics.
Kit to Protect each Community Clinic: Cost Rs. 7,500/week/clinic
One time: No contact thermometer
Weekly
These clinics see approximately 20,000 to 22,500 patients in a week. And healthcare establishment have been identified as one of the high risk areas for transmission. Therefore securing the government community clinic will ensure that
This will go a long way to mitigate the peak and nature of the COVID-19 Pandemic
