Story

Most of the Intellectual Disabilities students require anti-epileptic drugs. Irregular intake will lead to seizures. We often see students collapsing in school time. After an enquiry we came to know the parents were not able to buy the medicine due to its cost. As it is a medicine to take continuously without fail, we decided to give it FREE.

Basically, fits require regular in-taking of anti-epileptic drugs. Failing which leads to severe impact in memory loss. We have initiated these drugs program earlier and supplied drugs freely but due to discontinuation of donors for medicine program we were forced to stop this program. We would like to restart this program to reduce the parent’s burden and let the students come to the school regularly.

Here are some reasons why medications might be beneficial:

  • Addressing behavioral challenges: Some individuals with intellectual disabilities may experience behaviors that can be disruptive or harmful to themselves or others. Medications can help manage these behaviors, making it easier for the individual to function in their environment.
  • Managing medical conditions: People with intellectual disabilities are more likely to have co-occurring medical conditions, such as gastrointestinal issues, normal seasonal diseases or heart problems. Medications can help treat these conditions and improve overall health.
  • Treating mental health disorders: Individuals with intellectual disabilities are also at a higher risk for mental health conditions like depression, anxiety, or bipolar disorder. Medications can be effective in treating these conditions.
  • Improving sleep: Sleep disturbances are common among people with intellectual disabilities. Medications can help regulate sleep patterns and promote better rest.

In addition to medication, a comprehensive approach to supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities is often necessary. This may include therapies, educational interventions, and support services that address their unique needs and help them reach their full potential.

With immense joy and enthusiasm, our school celebrated World Autism Awareness Day on 4th April 2026. The campus was filled with smiles, laughter, and vibrant activities as our children, staff, and well-wishers came together to honor and celebrate the uniqueness and abilities of individuals with autism.

The event was graciously led by our dedicated volunteers, Sarathi Seenan and Chelvi, whose enthusiasm, care, and commitment made the celebration truly memorable. Their thoughtful planning and active participation ensured that every child felt included, valued, and encouraged throughout the program.

A variety of fun-filled games, interactive activities, music, dance, and recreational events were organized to promote social interaction, confidence, teamwork, and happiness among our students. The children actively participated in each activity, showcasing their talents, energy, and joyful spirit. The smiles on their faces were a beautiful reminder of the importance of acceptance, inclusion, and love.

This special celebration was made possible through the generous support of our donors, volunteers, and well-wishers. Your continued encouragement enables us to create meaningful experiences that nurture the growth, happiness, and development of our children. Every contribution helps us provide opportunities for learning, recreation, and community participation for children with special needs.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our supporters for standing with us in our mission of building an inclusive society where every child is respected, empowered, and celebrated.

Together, we can create a world where every child shines in their own unique way.
