Support Tamil Nadu’s First Women-Led Common Service Centre Network for Workers

Across 11 districts of Tamil Nadu, thousands of women workers struggle daily — not just at work, but in accessing basic rights, services and entitlements. From applying for welfare schemes to renewing an Aadhaar card, the system remains distant, digital, and out of reach.

Thozhi Federation — Tamil Nadu’s first women-headed workers’ trade union — is changing that.

We are launching a first-of-its-kind initiative: setting up Common Service Centres (CSCs) in 11 districts, run by women, for women workers and for general public too.

These centres will be more than just digital helpdesks. They will be:

• Access Points for government schemes (PDS, pension, health cards, scholarships)
• Support Spaces for legal aid, crisis response, and workplace grievance redressal
• Training Hubs for digital literacy, financial literacy, and workers' rights
• Safe Zones where women workers can be heard, supported, and empowered

This initiative is a landmark step in Tamil Nadu — placing women workers at the centre of governance, support, and systemic access.

• Set up 11 fully equipped CSCs across 11 districts
• Train and employ 22 women from union membership to run the centres
• Provide laptops, printers, internet, furniture, and Tamil help materials
• Offer free/affordable services to over 5,000 women workers and families in the first year
