FUNDING PROPOSAL FOR Sanitary Napkin Vending Machines

Currently, 440 girls are enrolled and studying @ Rotary English medium school, Khed. Similarly, nearby schools in remote places need to educate on health, and sanitation to girls and provide facilities to fulfil requirements. Our school serves a diverse student population, many of whom come from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. Despite our efforts to provide high-quality education, one critical issue remains unresolved: access to menstrual hygiene products.

To address this issue, we are seeking to install a sanitary pad vending machine in our school. This will provide girls with a safe and convenient way to manage their periods, allowing them to focus on their education without any distractions. The cost of installing a vending machine is Rs. 220,000 (Rupees Two Lakh Twenty Thousand Approx).

Providing access to menstrual hygiene products is crucial for the health and well-being of students. School plays a vital role in promoting menstrual health and ensuring that students are able to manage their periods with dignity. The purpose of this proposal is to request funding for the installation of a sanitary napkin vending machine to 440 girls in Rotary English Medium School.

Menstrual hygiene is a critical issue for many school-aged girls, with studies showing that girls often miss school due to a lack of access to menstrual products. Vending machines can provide a reliable and convenient source of menstrual products for students, reducing absenteeism and ensuring that students can attend school with confidence.

The main objectives of this project are to:

• Provide access to affordable and quality menstrual products to all girls from classes 5th to 12th in Rotary English Medium School.

• Reduce absenteeism due to lack of access to menstrual products.

• Promote menstrual health and hygiene education among students.

• Spread the importance of Hygiene and cleanliness.

Methodology: -

The following steps will be taken to install and maintain the vending machine :

• Procurement: The vending machine will be purchased from a reputable supplier with a proven track record of providing high-quality products.

• Installation: The vending machine will be installed in a central location within the school, accessible to all students.

• Stocking: The vending machine will be regularly stocked with a range of menstrual products, including sanitary pads and tampons.

• Maintenance: A regular maintenance schedule will be established to ensure that the vending machine is in good working order at all times.

The installation of a sanitary napkin vending machine in Rotary English Medium School will have a significant impact on 440 girls, the school, and the community. By providing access to menstrual products, students will be able to attend school with confidence and without fear of embarrassment. This will reduce absenteeism, improve academic performance and promote menstrual health and hygiene education. The beneficiary schools will also have hygienic equipment so that no girl would feel embarrassed about the days they spend at their crucial ages. 

The installation of a sanitary napkin vending machine in Rotary English Medium School is a crucial step towards promoting menstrual health and well-being among students.
