Celebrate Hundred Smiles this Daan Utsav

Project Smilestones is an initiative enabling contributors to celebrate their Milestone Events (birthday, anniversary, job promotions etc.) while also spreading smiles on the faces of underprivileged children. Our core philosophy encourages a chain of acts of positive transformation through a social celebration where you gain by giving. By participating, you are not merely celebrating your own milestones, but also fostering positive change in the lives of underprivileged children. Your support empowers us to disrupt the cycle of poverty, providing these children with the opportunity for a brighter and more promising future.

Impoverished children in the Tribal belts of Parli, Maharashtra are grappling with insurmountable challenges that hinder their daily access to nutritional meals, quality education and hence their chance toward a better future. Many are unable to attend school due to financial constraints, or the necessity to contribute to the family income. Furthermore, malnutrition is rampant among these children due to food insecurity, leading to stunted growth and developmental issues, while limited access to healthcare means that preventable diseases often go untreated. Additionally, economic pressures force many children into labor, where they work in hazardous conditions for minimal pay, facing exploitation and abuse. This cycle of poverty and deprivation severely hampers their chances of breaking free.

Education is a distant dream for many disadvantaged kids. Our mission is to bridge this educational gap between the haves & the have-nots. Thus, we associate ourselves with Shree Raj Educational Centre (SREC) a unit of Shrimad Rajchandra Aatma Tatva Research Centre (SRATRC). SREC is a one-of-its-kind, First English medium school with state-of-the-art facilities. It has a comprehensive and well-rounded academic experience for students across all levels, from pre-school to junior college. It is the first school in the entire district to initiate Brain-Gym & e-Learning and today it has the infrastructure to accommodate more than 1200 students with school bus facilities to bring children from a 40 km radius. 

In their growing years, many children from the marginalized communities of Parli, are exposed to the dangers of malnutrition. Hunger alleviation is another of our topmost priorities. For the same, we show our unending support to Shree Raj Roti Centre (SRRC) - a food distribution program of SRATRC. Shree Raj Roti Centre was initiated with the objective of helping the ‘underprivileged working-class’ individuals by serving them a full meal, once a day. SRRC is a food distribution program that serves healthy and nutritious food at a highly subsidized rate (token amount) of ₹10/- per meal. Apart from Parli, it is present in various places in Mumbai including Mulund, Matunga, Borivali as well as Ghatkopar. 

Within a year of the inception of Project Smilestones, we have distributed more than 10,000 meals with more than 760 supporters who have generously sponsored the education of more than 150 children. However, we believe that our contributors are the real beneficiaries, as their support grants these children the right to a quality life.
