Gift a School Kit

Youth For Seva(YFS) is a non-profit organisation which aims to empower and enable individuals from under-resourced backgrounds of the society. YFS is working towards improving the quality of education for the underprivileged students of society. One of the projects we are working with for this cause is the School Kit Drive. We are trying to raise funds for 1000 school kits which will be distributed to the students from a very low financial background and are at the verge of drop-out from school. Giving a school kit motivates children to continue school and also encourage their further interest in studies.

Each school kit costs Rs 450 /- and a kit includes 5 notebooks, 2 pencils, dictionary, label sheet and a water bottle all packed in an attractive school bag.

Youth for Seva (YFS), founded in April 2007, is a nation-wide volunteering movement that inspires youth to volunteer and provides them with meaningful opportunities to serve the community.

The goal of YFS is to support schools, destitute shelters, government hospitals and other organizations in the social sector through volunteers who can help them mitigate some of their shortcomings and challenges. Volunteering is made easy and customized to the individual’s interests, time availability and skill sets.

YFS aims to create positive change agents in society, through the culture of volunteering.

The School Kit drive program aims at providing underprivileged children from the urban

slums and rural areas across India receive new & quality education aid at the beginning

of every year. YFS believes that a helping hand from the society will encourage the

students in attaining education and arrest the school dropout rates.

Through this initiative, we aim to provide the school kits to as many needy students as

possible. A school kit comprises of a bag, notebooks, pencil box, geometry box, water

bottle and other stationery. In 2018, the School Kit Drive was driven by a group of full-time coordinators from YFS.

YFS volunteers along with full-time coordinators personally visited the Government

schools in and around Hyderabad and distributed the school kits. In rural areas

YFS Hyderabad also distributed Solar Lamps to the students. In 2018, YFS reached

out to 18,000 students in providing the school kits. YFS Hyderabad has proactively

worked to reach out to more number of students, especially in Nepal, Chhattisgarh and

Orissa. With every Passing Year YFS is reaching out to more and more beneficiaries by involving more corporates and more volunteers.
