At the Development Consortium, Development Consortium (DC) aims to take the necessary action to increase awareness among adolescent girls on Menstrual Hygiene and increase accessibility to high quality sanitary napkins to adolescent girls in rural areas, while ensuring safe disposal of Sanitary Napkins in an environmentally friendly manner.

With the growing young population, we need more support to spread awareness and provide the necessary resources in the most remote and rural areas of Uttar Pradesh.

Working with the low income families, we ensure that our comprehensive initiative provides accurate, age-appropriate and relevant knowledge on menstrual health hygiene and management.

How do we do that?

DC aims to organize menstrual awareness session and distribute a menstrual hygiene kit which contains sanitary pads for 3 months (45-60 pads); soap, detergent powder (500g), a small pamphlet with key information and instructions for pad disposal, and a bag to contain all of the above.

DC’s goal is to meet the demand-supply gap through distribution of sanitary pads in most remote rural & tribal areas of Uttar Pradesh where access to sanitary pads is limited/unavailable. In short, DC aims to eradicate the issues related to availability & affordability to maintain menstrual hygiene.
