In Sivakasi, there are around 8 lakh (800,000) people were directly and indirectly employed in the fireworks sector. 1070 registered firecracker manufacturing companies in sivakasi. Approximately 70% of India's matches and fireworks are made at Sivakasi. This enormous sector has served as the foundation of the regional economy, providing sustenance for innumerable households. However, making and handling firecrackers can be dangerous, just like working with any other explosive. Accidents happen frequently and are frequently horrifying. At least ten to twelve explosions at firework companies occur in Sivakasi each year. These mishaps have terrible effects. These explosions cause hundreds of injuries, and occasionally lasting disabilities. In these disasters, some people even lose their lives. 

Survivors frequently have to deal with severe wounds that hurt them every day. Some people struggle to get employment because their injuries are so severe that they are unable to perform even the most basic household chores. Every year, this was the tale, but this year, things have gotten worse.

Men and women who have accidents in this type of cracker industry die, their children are deprived of education and they are also denied to be workers. If yo.u provide continuing education and basic needs to such children, especially girls, their lives and development will be protected.
