Educate a Child

The school is being run by the contributions received from Executive Members, Friends, Families, Organisations of Executive Members and also from few interested local donors. There is currently an urgent need to raise sufficient funds to keep the school and hostel operational.

As our school is located outside of Chennai city limits, this poses a serious challenge for us in terms of raising funds.

A timely sponsorship can make a huge difference in the lives of our Gnanodaya Children. Your assistance means so much to us, but even more to the young children.

We look forward to the continuous support in our efforts to educate & uplift the children in need.

Efforts are being made to help assimilate leprosy affected people into the community through micro-credit, support groups, schools, hospitals and medical provisions.

One such effort is through the Gnanodaya Rehabilitation Association, we are running the Gnanodaya School at Venkatapuram Village, Singaperumal Koil. Our school accommodates children from leprosy affected families, who would otherwise be on the streets with their families.

We provide free education to these children and underprivileged children from nearby villages. The current strength of the school is 164 students. The school has classes from pre-school to 10th standard. We are proud to say that our School achieves 100% results every year in the board exams. We have also created Hostel facility for the children in the school premises. There are more than 55 students in the hostel now.

One of the most important benefits of education is how it improves personal lives and helps societies run smoothly. The knowledge students gather and skills they develop that stem from their education allow them to participate in cultural and societal events and activities.

It recognises greater educational achievement as a route to higher social status for individuals.

The society plays an important role in education and influences it. Through education, the students are introduced to the social norms as well as the customs and traditions of their social group. Thus, the society and social beliefs influence education.

Education helps the children to know rules and regulations and makes them responsible citizens of our country.

Education helps them to lead a good and healthy life.

Our School achieved 100% results in all past board exams, since taken over by Gnanodaya Rehabilitation Association. This impacted many parents voluntarily to bring their children and admit in our school. Few interested local donors support us in this cause.
