Due to COVID-19 outbreak & loss of employment, Lakhs of people have registered for transition to their home states as it has affected all segments viz. industrialists, farmers, workers, small traders, daily wage earners, migrant workers, older persons, Persons With Disability (PWDs) and socio economic backward populations. The seasonal migrants generally find work in shoes and chappal making, stone, marble and clothes factories, Driving trucks and taxi, loading labour, shop assistance, brick kilns, sugarcane harvesting, construction labour, etc. They are trapped in a vicious circle of poverty because they borrow from money lenders to meet their ongoing requirements during the slack period of the year, and eventually have to repay it through whatever means of seasonal employment. Since the pandemic spread, these workers rushed back to their native places, and now they are residing with their close-ones (host families), which has created financial Burden on the host families as most of them were working as MGNREGA labour/ seasonal farming/ animal husbandry etc. Most of the migrant will stay here for longer as they are unsure of jobs if they go back & also the education, health and Psychological condition of children is also at risk.
Project aims to promote economical stability of 50 beneficiaries- Migrant Workers, Small Ruminants, People with low Socio-economic conditions and Local residents, connect with Government Entitlements and provide Psychological support. Project Area: Jawaja block -Ajmer District (Rajasthan, India).
