Happy Child Van for Children in Distress

We work for child protection issues in peri-urban and rural communities of Greater Noida and Dadri. These areas lack a comfortable public transport system which makes it difficult for us to ferry the distressed child to a safe and protected place. We rely on odd means of transport which may not be comfortable for an already distressed child.

We want to create a sustainable solution through the purchase of a second hand Van for children. The van would be a permanent asset for the distressed children would be ferried with comfort and safety from one place to another. It will benefit children year after year. Also the Child Line team members would reach the distressed child in a much shorter time, provide instant help, take him/her to hospital, child home or child welfare committee comfortably. We will not have to run with the child/children here and there looking for a means of transport. The redressal and rescue will be respectful for the child.

The distressed child would be safe, respected and cared better through the respectable means of transport. It would also help the children get the feeling of being cared for.

As observed over the years, the children generally belong to impoverished families. They deserve to be treated respectfully and with dignity which would contribute to their psychological social and emotional health.

The Child Van would enable us to reach the far flung rural communities where we would be able to visit to generate awareness and empower the community on child protection issues. It would ensure the safety of the Child Line team who are there on the ground and work in extremely hostile conditions at times.
