People in rural India are largely dependent on groundwater or local water bodies for their drinking water and household needs. 

85% Indians rely on groundwater for drinking water. 

Unregulated use of groundwater, industrial growth and climate change combined is affecting ground water quality. 

Contaminants such as fluoride, arsenic, nitrate, iron and microbes pose a threat to the health of rural communities.

Through this initiative you will support 50 villages across 10 districts on the following aspects:

1. Community generated Water Quality Data using Field Testing Kits in mini water laboratories costing ₹ 5000 each.
2. Visualization of Water Quality Data for understanding WQ profile to enable water and health governance
3. Eco-friendly household water purifier worth ₹1000 in high water contamination zones.
4. Sustainable water quality and nutrition solution through water body protection and food forests @ ₹ 1 Lakh to Make a Village Resilient.
5. Leveraging existing initiatives for a sustainable solutions

The impact we are envisioning is building healthy and resilient water systems in 50 villages across 10 districts located in 8 states of India. This will lead to:

1. Ensuring healthy children and women by preventing water borne diseases
2. Safe food production with clean water giving nutritious food and healthy diet
3. Clean and healthy village environment ensuring hygiene and better reuse of wastewater
4. Empowered village communities taking decisions on water and health using community generated data.
