Hearing the unheard voice…………

Hearing loss is a condition known as deafness. It alludes to being completely unable to hear. The poor rural areas of Kerala are among the numerous places in the world where unfavorable attitudes and societal taboos towards deaf children prevail. They are thought to be a burden. This results in the neglect of these defenseless kids.

When a child or girl is born deaf, their parents view it as a curse. As a result, they leave such children on the road and never return. Family and societal discrimination are far worse. Any kind of disability puts a lot of financial strain on the person as well as their loved ones.

The majority of parents feel that sending their deaf children to school is a waste of time and money. Typically, these kids are excluded.

In remote rural areas, deaf children have limited access to education. Moreover, poor financial status of their families compels these children to go for daily wage labour. Thus they are even denied of their right to education.

The only option for deaf children to overcome the stigma and lead independent lives is through education. Hence, the parents in Kerala's underprivileged communities in remote areas must be persuaded to send their deaf children to school. The greatest thing to do is to give them material and economic help. It has been observed that many deaf children are unable to attend school due to a lack of financial resources.

Why to donate to KSSS

The Kottayam Social Service Society (KSSS) provides assistance to children and adults who have been diagnosed as deaf as well as with other disabilities like autism and cerebral palsy. Additionally, it aids the family members of individuals with disability.

Children who are deaf in marginalized communities in Kerala lack the resources and support they need to continue their education. We want to provide 100 deaf children in these communities with support so they can thrive in society and obtain high-quality education.

No matter how far away, we will locate children in need and assist them with educational items like clothing (including shoes and uniforms for school), school bags, textbooks, stationery, etc. Through our academic advising, student activities, school instruction and vocational training programmes, they can get an education. Your monthly contribution of Rs. 2000 will provide special education, speech therapy, healthcare and a hearing aid for the deaf child. Through community education, we will also educate the general population on how to treat children with physical disabilities, such as deaf children.

Distributing educational stuffs to 50 underprivileged deaf students will help them access equal opportunities for education, like other children. As the parents will get help in getting educational materials, they will motivate their children to get school education and the children will gain confidence.

You are planting the seeds for these people's success and societal integration by educating and empowering them. Deaf children can escape isolation with the abilities and information they gain. Through education, 50 underprivileged deaf children from a remote and undeveloped area will help their hamlet thrive.

A donation of Rs. 2,000 a month provides therapeutic care & support for the deaf child.
