Our Story

What if every child had a space where they could pause, express themselves, and simply be heard?

At Artbeat Educational Foundation, we believe music holds the power to create that space.

Across Indian classrooms, children face intense academic pressure with limited avenues for emotional expression. For neurodiverse children, finding sensory-safe, inclusive environments to build self-regulation is even rarer.

To solve this, we developed two specialised music-wellbeing programs:

• Aaroh: Engineered for neurotypical learning environments.
• Aalap: Tailored specifically for neurodiverse learning environments.

Up until now, we have been 100% bootstrapped—building our tools, refining our curriculum, and conducting real-world testing out of pure passion and belief in this vision. Now, we are ready to scale our work across a 15-month intervention for 140 children across 5 partner schools.

Where We Work: Partner Institutions

We are implementing this 15-month program across 3 neurotypical and 2 neurodiverse environments:

Neurotypical Contexts (Aaroh Track):

Grounded in Transparency: Proof from Our Stress Pilot

We believe in being honest and earnest about our work. Rather than relying on guesswork, we measure our impact to ensure we are truly serving these children.

In March & April 2026, we conducted a 6-session stress pilot across two radically different contexts: a neurodivergent cohort at ASHA and an urban neurotypical cohort. Using an independent 5-stream data collection framework (audio analysis, visual artifacts, teacher/parent daily logs, and facilitator logs), our findings demonstrated real, observable state shifts:

• 🧠 Adaptive Regulation (Neurodiverse Cohort): 7 out of 8 children with complete data reduced their "latency to stillness" (settle-time) down to ~30 seconds by Day 6. Children began initiating the Carnatic Tanpura drone independently as a self-soothing ritual without facilitator prompts.
• 💬 Cognitive Agency (Neurotypical Cohort): Children shifted from passive compliance to active choice-making, demonstrating daily increases in Active Recall at home and real-world transfer—including unprompted empathy and boosted confidence.
