Help 150 Marginalized Children Access Education and Dignity

For most children, July means picking new school bags. But for Dalit, nomadic, and migrant families in the salt fields of Rajasthan, July brings a different question: Which child must stay home to herd animals or babysit siblings?

At Manthan, we work with communities where school isn’t a given — it’s a dream deferred by poverty. In these villages, 80% of livelihoods rely on seasonal salt farming. When the rains arrive, everything shuts down — income, access, and hope. Education, in such a context, feels like a luxury few can afford.

But change is possible — and it’s already begun.

Through our Night Schools, Girls’ School, and Hostel for Nomadic Children, we’ve already supported 5,000+ children. Many are now pursuing B.A. and B.Ed. degrees, working dignified jobs, and sending their own children to school. What started as survival is becoming stability.

This year, we want to support 150 more children for two full years. Your contribution will help provide:

• Trained teachers and mentors
• Educational material and sports kits
• Safe, equipped learning spaces
• Support for families to prioritize education over child labor
