Story

For most children in India’s government and low-income schools, art is a forgotten subject — no teachers, no resources, no future in sight. Yet for so many of them, art is their language, their passion, their only way to dream bigger.

At Artent Education Foundation, we have seen what happens when those dreams are given a chance:

  • 35 students have already gone through our structured course in drawing, sketching, and color theory course. For children who once saw art only as doodles in the margins of their notebooks, this was the beginning of seeing themselves as artists.
  • At our first jury presentation, these young creators stood nervously yet proudly in front of industry experts, sharing their work and receiving professional feedback. For most of them, it was the first time their art was taken seriously by professionals and the moment they realized that their dreams could be more than just hobbies.
  • Through the art.is.try showcase, they narrated stories through their art. Parents, peers, and community members walked through the exhibition in awe, many admitting it was the first time they had imagined art as a possible career for their children.

These moments are not just milestones for us, they are turning points for our students. Each sketch, each canvas, each story they share is proof that with the right support, children from government and low-income schools can stand tall as creators, changemakers, and contributors to India’s creative future.

Our students are not just learning, they’re thriving. They are building portfolios, gaining confidence, and daring to imagine a future in design, animation, communication, and the creative economy.

One such story is of our student Rushikesh who was once a quiet teenager with a sketchbook, and now is a commissioning artist, supporting himself, teaching others, and daring to imagine a future as an illustrator.

But Rushikesh’s story shouldn’t be the exception. Over the next 3 years, we want to support 50 more young aspirers to break the glass ceiling and reach top art and design colleges like NID, Srishti, and even Boston School of Arts. With structured training, mentorship, industry exposure, and career guidance, their talent can become their ticket to dignity and opportunity.

Our collective support of raising ₹5,00,000 will make this possible — covering art resources, mentorship, showcases, and college readiness for these students. One year from now, your gift will give 50 students a portfolio, a pathway, and a real shot at their dream colleges.

Donate now and be part of their story. Together, let’s make art aspirational for India!
