Help 54 Children attain strong Early Education in Pre Primary Classrooms

Meet Bala. He is 6 years old and studies in Class 1. His father is a driver, and his mother is a daily wage worker.

Bala spent two years in pre-primary (LKG and UKG/Anganwadi), yet today he cannot pick out 5 stones from a group of stones, and he finds it hard to listen attentively to classroom instructions in Class 1 now. This is not a lack of ability. Bala did not get a stimulating learning experience before the age of 6.

There are many children like Bala. Without quality learning experience in these early years, they enter Class 1 and 2 already behind, and the gap keeps growing.

What we are doing about it

Inidhu Education Foundation runs the Foundational Stage Strengthening Program (FSSP) in 2 government schools in Thiruvarur, Tamil Nadu, reaching 54 pre-primary children. Through play and activity-based learning, we help children build the listening, counting, socio-emotional, and concentration skills they need before they move ahead. Our teachers are implementing well-designed thematic lesson plans with children and providing a holistic learning experience every day.

The program runs for 10 months (July 2026 to April 2027). We now need support for the remaining 7 months (October 2026 to April 2027) to cover workbooks, stationery, nutrition and teacher salaries so that the children's progress does not stop midway.

Where your money goes

Workbooks - 54 children × ₹500= ₹27,000

Story books - 50 books = ₹5000

Stationery - 2 schools X ₹700 X 7 months = ₹9800

Nutrition- 54 children × ₹5 × 105 days= ₹28,350

Teacher salary - 2 teachers × ₹15,000 × 7 months= ₹2,10,000

Admin cost - 15000

Total program cost is ₹2,80,150

That is about ₹5,188 per child for the remaining seven months.

How you can help
