Help animals affected in Kerala floods!

Rains and subsequent floods have been ravaging four regions of Kerala this past week. Thousands of people have been evacuated to relief camps to safer places while 39 people have lost their lives. There is little information on animal evacuations and casualties.

Humane Society International India is working with the state Animal Husbandry Department and the Kerala State Disaster Management Authority to provide relief to families who are in need of materials for the animals. We are in Alappuzha district, one of the worst affected regions in Kerala, right now distributing around 10,000 kgs of fodder for thousands of cattle and dog food for stranded street animals. However, with impending rains this week, we need more to sustain them for a week more till water recedes.

Help us raise 2.5 lakhs to buy 200 bags of fodder to help stranded families with cattle. Your donation will also go a long way in feeding street dogs who are affected by the floods.
