Taher and his artisans work hard in Bidar--the home of Bidriware, one of India's most striking crafts.
They have a major challenge: their art form is slowly dwindling, and many of the artisans are moving to cities for mason work. Many of them are living just around the poverty line.
One of the problems is that their work takes a lot of time to design, and newer designs are tough to create manual moulds for.
With the help of some supporters, we have purchased a 3D printer that will help them create intricate designs--with logos of corporates, if need be.
Now, we need an amount of Rs. 2L to train a batch of artisans in using the 3D printer. We will also need to support them, and create five unique designs that they can directly take to the market.
This is one way to help us preserve our rich Indian legacy!
The costs will be toward:
3D printer training for 20 artisans: Rs. 50,000
Ready-to-use 3D designs (5 nos): Rs. 50,000
Food, transport, and accommodation for artisans from Bidar to Hyderabad: Rs. 60,000
Management, training materials, 3D printer consumables: Rs. 25,000
