Help children like Gauri break the glass ceiling

16-year-old Gauri proudly handles the clanging machine in her lab at Nettur Technical Training Foundation (NTTF), part fascinated - part excited by all the knobs and handles she has to operate. Entering her tool room lab for the first time at NTTF as a proud student of its Tool and Design Engineering course was an absolutely life changing experience for Gauri and her family. Three years later, she will be a diploma-holder placed in a highly skilled job in India’s manufacturing sector with opportunities to upskill and grow.

Seven years ago, Gauri came to Bengaluru as the youngest child of a poor migrant family from Bihar. Like many other such families, they too strived to eke out a living in the city despite her father’s alcoholism and having no viable schooling options that would work for their children.

Gubbachi’s Education programs offer children from migrant communities an opportunity to learn and complete schooling, despite all the systemic barriers that prevent them from accessing quality education. Our portfolio of Education programs – both inside Government schools and in community spaces - are designed to create equal opportunities by way of a wholistic and well-designed curriculum, that enables children to have a meaningful school experience from foundational learning to Grade 10.

Gauri is part of a proud batch of 12 students who successfully passed their National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) Grade 10 exam this year and have been able to make a breakthrough for their families, despite all odds.
