Help Empower Women in Uri Through Skills, Inclusion & Wellbeing

In the remote border villages of Uri, women face multiple layers of disadvantage shaped by geography, conflict, and social norms. Limited access to skills, mobility, and opportunities has kept many women excluded from economic and community life, despite their capabilities and local knowledge.

Our Women's Empowerment initiative was created to respond to these realities by building safe, community-based spaces where women and adolescent girls can learn, engage, and slowly move towards greater confidence, skills, and participation in society.

However, this work cannot grow without support. Sustained funding is needed to maintain safe spaces, conduct regular trainings, reach remote villages, and support long-term community engagement. Building trust and meaningful change in such contexts requires time, consistency, and resources.

With support, this initiative can evolve into a strong ecosystem where women are empowered socially and economically, and are able to participate more actively in household and community decision-making.
