Help Flood-Hit Children in Assam Go Back to School

Give a child their bag, books and a reason to smile again.

Assam is once again underwater. The 2026 floods have affected over 10 lakh people, displaced hundreds of thousands, and submerged homes, fields, and schools across upper Assam. Families who had almost nothing have now lost that too including the notebooks, bags, and pencils their children need to go back to class.

As the water recedes, schools will slowly reopen. But many children won't be able to walk back in — not because they don't want to, but because their school bag, books, and basic supplies were washed away with everything else.

Jan Briddhi Foundation has worked on the ground in past flood relief efforts in Assam, and we know that getting a child back into a classroom quickly after a disaster matters — for their education, and for their sense of normalcy after weeks of disruption.

We're raising funds to provide Education Kits to flood-affected students once floodwaters recede and schools reopen. Each kit includes:
