Story

Kajal an 18-year-old girl, a 10th standard student, with less than 6 months of training at Navgurukul - is now working at an MNC with a 4.2 lacs annual package. Based out of Delhi, her father is a rickshaw puller and her mother a domestic cook in Delhi.

Annu hailing from Kishanganj, Bihar is working at Mindtree. Living in a village she barely had access to a good education. Now she wishes to establish another Navgurukul in her own village.

Higher Education - Problems

  1. Entrance Examinations: Too few seats in affordable colleges
  2. Affordability: Annual fees of college range from 1 to 4 lacs
  3. Language: Students from low income groups aren’t comfortable with English, while a majority of higher education material is available only in English, hence students suffer after getting into colleges as well
