Left behind after a lifetime of giving

Across cities and villages, thousands of cows are abandoned once they stop producing milk and are no longer of any monetary value. “It’s a sad truth, cows that once provided so much to families are left to fend for themselves when they’re no longer useful,” says Hari.

Many of these cows, haven't known life outside a cowshed or backyard. Suddenly left on the streets, they struggle to find food or safety. They eat from garbage piles, drink polluted water, and often meet with road accidents. “It’s painful to see them trying to survive in an environment they don’t understand,” Hari shares quietly.

A place where care replaces neglect

At Guardian of Angels, every rescued cow receives immediate medical attention, clean food, and a safe shelter. The team’s veterinarians treat wounds, fractures, and infections with patience and care. Once recovered, the cows spend their days peacefully in open spaces and resting under shade, away from danger.

“We want to give them back a little of the care they gave us all their lives,” says Hari. “It’s about dignity, not charity. They deserve to live without hunger or fear.”
