SAYANI DAS, an aspiring swimmer from a small town, Kalna in West Bengal. Her father is a retired Primary school teacher and her mother is a housewife. Her elder sister is already married. Belonging to a family of sports persons she developed an interest in sports from school days and eventually fixed her interest in SWIMMING. He took up to LONG DISTANCE OPEN WATER SWIMMING as her career. Currently Sayani is looking for your support to accomodate funds for her COOK STRAIT adventures. She is preparing for her next adventure to cross COOK STRAIT in NEW ZEALAND & North channel in Ireland are scheduled in 2024. 

Achievements

• Successfully crossed the Molokai Channel, Hawaii, USA in 2022. I have Become the first Asian female swimmer successfully crossed this channel.
• Successfully swam and crossed the Catalina channel in the USA on 8th June,2019. 
• Successfully crossed the Rottnest Channel in Western Australia on the 24th of February,2018. 
• Successfully crossed the English channel in the United Kingdom on 26th July,2017. 
• Participated in 73rd open water long distance swimming competition 2016 in river Bhagirathi for 81 KM on 18th September,2016 organised by Murshidabad Swimming Association. 
• Represented Serampore College in the Inter-collegiate swimming championship 2018-2019 and 2016-2017 and placed 2nd in 50M Breastroke. 
• Represented West Bengal in 39th ,40th and 41st Junior National Championship, 25th and 27th Sub-junior National Championship. 
• Participated in 58th National school games 2012-2013. 

Auto-Biography

Sayani Das, released her first edition of the autobiography 'স্রোতের বিরুদ্ধে' ( The Upstream) on 26th July 2023 in a colourful event happened at Sports Village, District – Nadia. The renowned personalities like former football player from East Bengal Club - Mr. Tarun Dey, former football player from Aikkya Sammilani club - Mr. Arabindo Ray , famous swimming coach Mr.Tamal Das were present during the ceremony. 

Documentary : SN Films built a documentary on her success named “Jalpori – The Naiad” . The director was Sanjib Nath and Music Director was Debashmita Chattopadhya.
