At just 43, Mrs. Jayamma was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon Cancer.

For years prior, she had endured abdominal pain and irregular cycles, but never let it affect her dedication to her family. As a daily wage worker, she pushed through her discomfort, working tirelessly to provide. Until one day, the pain grew so severe that she was left bedridden.

In early 2024, her health deteriorated sharply—crippling abdominal pain, dizziness, vomiting, chills, rapid weight loss, and extreme fatigue.

Local clinics offered little relief, and soon she was rushed to the Cancer Institute of Karnataka in a wheelchair. There, her family was told—shatteringly—that she had Stage 4 Cancer and needed urgent chemotherapy.

She underwent six chemotherapy sessions, but while they slowed the progression, the side effects were agonising—intense weakness, hair loss, vomiting, and days without food, urine, or bowel movement.

 At home, her absence left the family struggling both financially and emotionally, while she sank into deep anxiety and emotional withdrawal, constantly fearing for her children’s future.
