Help our Surbhi Girls in Realising their Dreams

Through Project Surbhi, we are on a mission to sustainably empower rural adolescent girls, through Health-Hygiene-Nutrition-Self defense training and Skill development in the aftermath of COVID-19. We believe that a comprehensive intervention will propel our girls to realize their potential, thereby transforming the economic paradigm at the grassroot level and achieving girl child empowerment. Our modules are designed by subject matter experts using design thinking and years of experience and on-ground insight. 

Our pilot batch started with 40 adolescent girls from Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh which successfully culminated in July 2021. Our first batch had a mix of skill development workshops for computer training, stitching, and food processing. Further, the girls underwent intensive 16 hours of training on Krav Maga (an Israeli martial art form for self-defense). A special impetus was laid on Expressionism and Mental Health. We believe that education is a stepping stone for a dignified life. We extend scholarships to aspiring students in rural areas and also provide books to students belonging to the economically and socially weaker sections of the society. We are creating digital and traditional libraries to promote reading and learning at the grass root level.

 We have created a brand-Chaukdi to market the products produced by our cluster comprising of Surbhi girls and their female family members. One part of the profit of Chaukdi will go into Surbhi for making it a sustainable social intervention.

We are about to start our 7 batches in across 5 districts of Uttar Pradesh in November 2023 with fresh zest and a lot of experiential learning. We have planned to introduce some new skills to the program. We cannot do this alone and need your support to help these 40 girls in realizing their dreams. #ThankyouBecauseofYou
