Every day, around 300 young children across Chikkaballapur and Sidlaghatta come to small Aina Trust centres close to their homes. Their parents work long hours in very low-paying, informal occupations, often in environments where it is neither safe nor practical to take a young child. For these families, something as basic as safe childcare can be difficult to find.
For more than two decades, Aina Trust has provided a simple, community-based solution. Aina trains women from within these communities as caregivers, turning their homes into small neighbourhood childcare centres where children can eat, play, learn while their parents work.
Today, this model supports around 300 children across more than 60 centres.

For around 300 young children across Aina's community centres, our ask is simple: help provide one nutritious meal for each child, each day.
Aina estimates that one nutritious meal can be provided for approximately ₹10 per child. For all 300 children, that is about ₹3,000 for one day.
It is a small amount for one child, but across 300 children, day after day, every contribution adds up.

₹500 can provide about 50 meals
₹1,000 can provide about 100 meals
₹3,000 can provide one meal for all 300 children for a day
₹10,000 can provide about 1,000 meals
A few hundred or thousand rupees. Each can become nutritious meals for young children.
That is what makes Aina's model different.
When a mother knows her child is safe, fed and cared for close to home, she has the opportunity to earn. And Aina's work doesn't stop at childcare.
Women in these communities are supported to build greater economic independence — through caregiver employment, self-help groups, vocational skills and small income-generating activities.
Some sew. Some prepare or sell food. Some run small businesses. Some become the caregivers who look after children in their own neighbourhood.
The circle begins with a child — but it strengthens an entire family.

Our immediate hope is simple: help provide one nutritious meal a day for each of these children.
Your support can also help sustain the wider ecosystem around these 300 children — nutrition, safe childcare, early learning, trained caregivers, basic needs, and stronger livelihoods for the women and families around them.
It isn't one dramatic intervention. It is something quieter and more powerful: making everyday life a little more secure.
A child receives a nutritious meal. A mother gets a few uninterrupted hours to work. A local woman gains skills and an income. A family becomes a little more independent.
And tomorrow morning, it happens again.
Help provide one meal. Or 10. Or 100.
₹10 can provide one child a meal. Around ₹3,000 can provide one meal for all 300 children for a day.
Together, we can help give these children a safer, better-nourished start — while giving the women around them a better chance to build their own future.
